Thanks, I've had that on and off

I get the error regardless of that setting. Before I used the default port 465 but now I changed it to 25 (see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21108352). After this change I was able to receive the e-mail (!) but I still get the error and it looks like it is not using TLS. It could also be that there was a delay in the DNS update and that's why it started to work now.

Here is what I get in the log (some SMTP debug settings are enabled):
